Geraldine Baum

My name is Geraldine Baum.  I’ve organized major photography collections and will bring my expertise to you to create an organized, beautiful and shareable family archive.

I founded THE PHOTO TAMERS when I realized that after years of working as a professional photography archivist my own personal archive was far from organized. Following the passing of all four of our parents and inheriting their large archives of photos, tapes and papers, I realized we were living with thousands of photos in dozens of boxes and albums and on countless drives - and that information was at risk of being lost forever.  I wanted everything to be organized and not overwhelming. I also wanted beautifully preserved memories and family history to pass onto my daughter.  In addition to my own family archive, I began organizing the personal archives of the photographers I work for as well as friends - and found this aspect of photo organizing extremely interesting and rewarding. I joined an amazing organization, the Association of Personal Photo Organizers - and I felt as if I found my tribe. Their support, resources and professional development have given me the path to create and grow a sustainable business - and THE PHOTO TAMERS was born.

I am so proud and grateful for the opportunities I've had to work on some amazing large scale photography and art archiving projects.  To give you an idea of my background and experience - as you consider working with us to organize your family photos - have a look at some of my past work.
